Beneficiary for the 15th Annual Charity Golf Event

Guide Dogs of Texas extensively trains dogs to be the “eyes” for countless, visually impaired Texans. They have already given 240,000 days of guided sight to blind Texans. They also offer unique client services such as specialized matching, training and follow-up. Being the only guide dog school in the state of Texas, Guide Dogs of Texas plays a huge role in providing “sight” to the visually impaired, while in turn providing a loving and constant companion, freedom, mobility and the independence to go about their daily lives.

From the moment they are born, the puppies are groomed to be future guide dogs that will be thoughtfully paired with their new owners. Each puppy will provide 8 years of guided sight to someone disabled by blindness. This entire training process takes 2 years and cost a total of $50,000 for each dog and visually impaired match to complete. Hearts and Hands has the privilege of raising funds through our 15th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which will take place on October 11, 2018, and proceeds will be given to Guide Dogs of Texas to train and raise their new litter of puppies!
